Sports Court Upgrade

About the Project

METIO is collaborating with the Jarramandalah Burru Community Corporation and Nyikina Mangala Community School to upgrade their sports court.

This upgrade includes the erection of a metal shade structure over the existing concrete slab to ensure all-weather usability, the addition of an ablutions block, the construction of a small stage for various school and community events, and landscaping enhancements to beautify the surroundings.

Project Development

METIO is leading the project development with a focus on comprehensive community consultations to gather input and feedback. This inclusive approach has guided the design process and will lead to a better outcomes of the project.

Funding and Support

The Sports Court Upgrade project is currently in the early stages of funding application. The clint and METIO are actively seeking support from various sources, including:

  • AISWA - Association of Independent Schools Western Australia through the Australian Government Capital Grants Program (CGP)

  • Lotterywest

  • Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, Western Australia

A team of consultants, including Troppo Architects, has provided their expertise on a pro bono basis, ensuring the project benefits from a top-tier design firm. The design phase is complete, and with successful funding, the project will move towards construction, ultimately providing the community with a modern facility that supports a variety of sports and recreational activities.
