Free initial project support for small community organisations

Pro Bono program

METIO is committed to supporting communities building infrastructure. We understand that community organisations often don’t have the resources required to start their projects - we want to help you with that.

As a Certified Social Enterprise, we are fully invested in meeting our commitment to positive social outcomes. To assist with that goal, we have a probono program that can support small organisations with the initial stages of your projects.

Our professionals and volunteers can work with you and build an understanding of your needs, and work with you to develop strategies to build your ideas into reality.

Our service

For small community organisations our professionals can provide the following free pre-project services:

  • Initial project “understanding”

  • Strategy formulation

  • Concept design

  • Planning

  • Costing

  • Identifying donors or sources of funding

  • Developing and submitting funding applications

What type of project do we support?

We support projects that are in line with our mission, projects that have communities as beneficiaries and will impact and improve the well-being of that community.

We support projects that deliver any kind of community infrastructure, such as schools, community centers, art centers, health facilities, sports facilities, etc.

If you can see some of the projects that we are involved here.

Indigenous organisations

METIO has a strong focus on assisting indigenous communities, and this focus is not limited to Australia. If you are part of an indigenous community or organisation and have an idea that you feel would benefit your community, we encourage you to contact us.

Where do we work?

We are based in Australia, and our projects are currently within Australia. Our team has strong work experience in the Southeast Asia and the Pacific region, and is ready and willing to undertake suitable regional projects. If you or your organisation is not located in Australia, we still encourage you to reach out and discuss your ideas.

Do I have to pay for this Service?

If you qualify for this Program and we have suitable resources available to help, you won’t pay for Metio’s efforts helping you with the initial development of your project.

However, not all organisations or projects qualify, and Metio reserves the right to select projects, or may refer you to other providers better able to meet your needs.

Once the project is initiated and project funding is secured, Metio can be engaged for further work in support of project development and delivery. Payment for services once funding is secured is typically sourced from grants or donor financing, not levied against community organisations we seek to assist.

For consultants and volunteers

We have many probono requests but unfortunately due to limited resources, we cannot support everyone. If you are an architect, engineer, project manager or a builder and you want to gain skills and want to get involved, please contact using the form on the bottom of this page.
